The land is a big part of me. I grew up on the prairies and moved North to paint and teach art. I've had several one-man shows, a two-person show, and been part of three group shows. In the seventies and eighties, I painted a series of oils and acrylics of the Dempster Highway from Dawson City to Inuvik. Later in the eighties, I did a series of pen and inks of Inuvik's 'Drunken Forest'. In the nineties, I've been painting increasingly abstract landscapes, now using the land around Rae Edzo and Yellowknife as my inspiration.

I've spent twenty of the last thirty years teaching art in Inuvik and Rae-Edzo, in the NWT. Many of my art students have been Dene, Cree, or Inuit, and have been inspired by artists from their own communities, such as Mona Thrasher and Archie Beaulieu. So as well as knowing those artists, I've had to become familiar with their work to better serve my students. Those northern artistic traditions have found their way deep into my work.

A few months ago, I had a show at the Designer's Den in Yellowknife, and put new images into the 'Sketches' section of the website.

I now have cards available. Six images in postcard style, six images in greeting card style. If you're interested in my work, you can contact me.

Thank you very much, and I hope you enjoy the work.
